Cape Town - Scotland flank John Barclay has been ruled out of their trip to South Africa next month due to a shoulder injury.
According to the BBC Sport website, the 26-year-old, who is set to join Welsh side Scarlets from Glasgow Warriors, will undergo surgery later this week.
Scotland announced they have no immediate plans to replace the 41-Test cap veteran in their 30-man squad.
