SBW's foe '1 000% sure of victory'

Cape Town - American heavyweight boxer Chauncy Welliver has promised to be in shape for his clash with Sonny Bill Williams and is "1 000 percent" sure he will beat the All Blacks star.

Williams, 29, will make a long-awaited return to the ring against Welliver in Sydney on Saturday, January 31, ending a two-year absence since his controversial points win over South Africa’s Francois Botha.

Welliver, 31, has never looked in the best of shape and weighed 137kg for his last fight against Alexander Ustinov in Moscow last month, which he lost by unanimous decision.

But Welliver has promised to train hard for the fight against Williams.

When asked if he was confident of winning, he told Fightnews.com:

“1 000%. I’ve taken a few fights this past year with little to no training. I will give team SBW that, they had the honour to give me time to get ready. “

Welliver has 70 fights to his name, including 55 wins and shapes as a genuine test for Williams who is unbeaten after six fights.
