SBW heading back to league?

Sydney - According to the Sunday Telegraph website, Sonny Bill Williams is eyeing a possible return to rugby league, with the Sydney Roosters his most likely destination.

The dual international is currently contracted to the Chiefs for the duration of the 2012 Super Rugby season, but financial considerations and his enduring popularity in Australia could see the former rugby league star swap back to his previous code.

Williams, who has spent much of his time in Sydney after the All Blacks' victorious Rugby World Cup campaign before linking up with the Chiefs for pre-season training, fueling speculation about a return to NRL.

According to the Sunday Telegraph, a source close to Williams has said that the centre had been house-hunting in Sydney.

"Sonny has been asking a few mates about where he should live when he comes back to Sydney," the source told the Sunday Telegraph.

"Playing NRL is a definite option."

After the All Blacks’ victorious World Cup campaign, Williams had signalled his intention to remain in New Zealand to form a lethal combination with fellow Chiefs players Aaron Cruden and Richard Kahui, and challenge Ma’a Nonu for his inside-centre position in the All Blacks team, but it appears as if the inside centre is keeping his options open if he is forced to play second-fiddle to Nonu.
