Cape Town - The SA Rugby Union (SARU) wants to utilise Jonathan Kaplan as a Television Match Official (TMO) in future.

Kaplan recently retired as a referee, but has been added to SARU's list of TMOs for the 2014 season.

Kaplan is yet to confirm his availability but will in all likelihood be heard rather than seen on rugby screens in future.

Marius Jonker - who is also no longer available as a referee -  was also named on the list of TMOs.

After 21 years on the National Panel in South Africa, Kaplan decided to retire from international and provincial refereeing while continuing to referee at clubs in the Western Province and schools.
