Rennie 'humbled, flattered' by All Blacks approach

London - Glasgow coach Dave Rennie said it was "flattering and humbling" to have been approached to take charge of the All Blacks.

The 55-year-old Kiwi is one of a number of candidates likely to be interviewed to replace Steve Hansen who will leave his role as New Zealand head coach after Friday's Rugby World Cup third-place playoff against Wales.

"Obviously it's flattering, it's humbling because they have always been such a great side," Rennie told STV on Thursday as he confirmed the outgoing world champions had been in touch.

"Yeah, they have probably made contact with a number of Kiwis who are coaching over this way about interest for the role.

"I know they are going to have a process where they interview then make an appointment in the new year."

Rennie has previously stated he will see out his Glasgow contract, which expires in June 2020.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
