Cape Town - Rassie Erasmus is certain that his 2019 group of Springboks are ready to give it their very best shot at the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.
The Springbok Director of Rugby said in his column in the latest Springbok digital magazine that he is confident all the planning has been done for the opening match against New Zealand on Saturday, September 21 - and beyond.
“We’ve planned carefully and will be well prepared for the opening match against New Zealand and for the matches that follow it. We’ve left nothing to chance but in World Cup rugby, the bounce of the ball or the call of a referee can be the difference between triumph and disaster,” he said.

“I am very happy with the squad we were able to select. We have been blessed with very few injuries thanks to the great work of the medical team and it has meant that we’ve been able to rotate players into positions to give everyone decent game time without compromising on results - although we had our lucky moments.
“We successfully completed phase one of our season – although we would have liked to have won in Wellington, but we can’t be greedy - and now we move to phase two, with no secrets around what our goal for that is.”
“Be assured though, that we’re ready to give it our very best shot.”
