The Springboks' greatest on-field rivals, the All Blacks, have paid their respects to Chester Williams.

DID YOU KNOW?
In 2001 Williams was selected as the coach of the South African sevens team that won the bronze medal at the 2002 Commonwealth Games and ended runners up in the World Sevens Series.
He remained sevens coach until 2003.

DID YOU KNOW?
Chester Williams was portrayed by McNeil Hendricks in the 2009 Clint Eastwood film Invictus, a biographical drama film about the events in South Africa before and during the 1995 Rugby World Cup.
Williams also helped to coach Hollywood heavyweight Matt Damon and other actors for the rugby scenes used in the film.

FUNERAL SERVICE DETAILS
On Saturday, September 14 at 12:00, Williams' funeral service will be held at Newlands rugby stadium where he first made a name for himself on the rugby stage.
Williams made his debut for Western Province in 1991, making 63 appearances before heading to the Golden Lions after the 1998 season.
In addition to today and Saturday's services, on Thursday, September 12, there will be a tribute evening at the Boland Cricket Ground in Paarl starting at 18:00.
The family have made it clear that: "Everybody is welcome to all occasions".

FIFTH PLAYER FROM 1995 WORLD CUP FINAL TO DIE
Williams is the fourth player of 1995 Springbok Rugby World Cup-winning team to have died - and the fifth overall.
Springbok loose forward Ruben Kruger (39) died from brain cancer in 2010, scrumhalf Joost van der Westhuizen (45) from motor neurone disease in 2017 and wing James Small (50) from a heart attack earlier this year.
All Blacks legend Jonah Lomu (40) died from a heart attack linked to his kidney disease.
In addition, Springbok 1995 coach Kitch Christie (58) died of cancer in 1998.
