Wellington - New Zealand wing Hosea Gear says he may move overseas after missing selection for the All Blacks 30-man squad for the Rugby World Cup.
Gear and 45-Test veteran Sitiveni Sivivatu were left out of the squad named on Tuesday, with the All Blacks preferring Cory Jane, Zac Guildford and Isaia Toeava as the wing options because they can also play other positions.
Gear, whose wife is expecting twins, said he would discuss his future with family. He was keen to play again for the All Blacks but said he had been "in and out and I'm not getting any younger. I've got a young family that I need to think about and take care of."
He said "financially it's a massive loss that you're making that you could be making overseas."
