WP 'warn' fans trying to sell Bok tickets

Cape Town - WP Rugby has warned that tickets for the Springboks v All Blacks Rugby Championship Test at Newlands should not be sold for more than face value.

Public tickets for the October 7 Test were sold out in less than an hour on Monday.

Tickets had ranged from R100 for scholars to R950 for the best seats in the house.

Then, on Tuesday, a few fans were attempting to sell the tickets they had bought at inflated prices. For example, on Gumtree, one person was selling 10 tickets for R25 000, before the advert was later removed.

WP Rugby subsequently issued a statement warning fans attempting to sell their tickets at inflated prices:

Whilst public tickets that went on sale on September 11 are currently sold out, the public are advised to be cognisant of the fact that only tickets bought from wprugby.computicket.com, Computicket outlets or the stadium box office are guaranteed valid for the Rugby Championship Test match between the Springboks and the All Blacks at Newlands on October 7.

These are the only outlets which are licenced to sell tickets to Newlands. Tickets obtained from any other source cannot be guaranteed valid. Newlands 2017 season tickets are valid for the Test, with no further action required.

Please also be aware that the terms of sale prohibit the on-sale of tickets for a price greater than the face value of the ticket.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
