Jake has sights on Willie - report

Cape Town - Former Springbok coach Jake White is reportedly eager to lure utility back Willie le Roux to Japan and play for his Toyota Verblitz club.

According to Netwerk24, Le Roux is expected to stay on in Japan after next year’s Rugby World Cup and join White’s team.

Le Roux is currently in the Springbok squad for the Rugby Championship, but the expectation is that he will not play in all of the matches.

After the completion of his Springbok duties, he will return to Wasps but the 2018/19 European season is likely to be his last for the English club.

It will be the 29-year-old’s second stint in Japan, having also played for the Canon Eagles club between 2015 and 2017.

Le Roux, who plays fullback and wing, currently boasts 46 Tests and could reach the 50-Test milestone on the Springboks' year-end tour to Europe.
