Fans back Boks to finish second-best to All Blacks

Cape Town - The vast majority of Sport24's rugby fans believe the Springboks will claim the runners-up spot in this year’s Rugby Championship.

Following South Africa's 3-0 series triumph over France in June, Sport24 asked fans to cast their votes on how they believed the Springboks would fare in the tournament.

Out of a total of 17 639 votes, 63% predicted that the Boks would finish in second spot - presumably behind favourites New Zealand.

23% of fans thought the Boks would finish third (as was the case in 2016).

Only 8% backed the Boks to win the tournament, while 6% predicted they would finish bottom of the standings.

The Springboks open their Rugby Championship campaign against Argentina in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 17:00.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
