Etzebeth: We're looking to expose All Blacks lineout

Cape Town - Springbok lock Eben Etzebeth says they will be out to expose the All Blacks lineout in Saturday’s Rugby Championship encounter in Wellington.

The Springboks head into the encounter as underdogs, having lost their last two games against Argentina (32-19, Mendoza) and Australia (23-18, Brisbane).

The big lock addressed reporters in Wellington on Thursday where he said the Boks had done their homework on the All Blacks lineout.

“Every game is a new challenge. We always analyse every team we are playing against. Each team has its own strengths. We have analysed the New Zealand lineout and that is something we are looking to expose. They have good jumpers, good individual players and they have worked well together as a group," he said.

Etzebeth, however, added that the Boks would need to be far more clinical this weekend.

“I think a few calls definitely didn’t go our way (against the Wallabies). (But) it’s actually up to us. There are things we have worked on this week and hopefully we can improve this weekend,” Etzebeth noted.

“We need to take our chances and use our opportunities. We are just trying to focus on our game and adapt here and there.”

Saturday's Test is scheduled for 09:35 (SA time).

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
