Boks confident Am will be ready for year-end tour

Cape Town - Springbok centre Lukhanyo Am is in a race against time to be fit for the team’s end-of-year tour to Europe after recently fracturing his forearm.

The 24-year-old, who boasts six Tests, sustained the injury in South Africa’s 36-34 win over New Zealand in Wellington on September 15.

Am's province, the Sharks, told SA Rugbymag that the midfielder should return to training in six weeks’ time.

This means he should board the plane with the national team for their year-end tour.

The Springboks' first year-end Test is just over five weeks away - against England at Twickenham on November 3.

South Africa also take on France in Paris (November 10), Scotland in Edinburgh (November 17) and Wales in Cardiff (November 24).
