Cape Town - Golden Lions captain Warren Whiteley has been called up to the Springbok squad as a replacement for the injured Willem Alberts.
As it happened: Boks v Pumas
Alberts was forced to withdraw from the match-day squad against Argentina on Saturday after he picked up a hamstring strain during the captain’s run at Loftus Versfeld on Friday evening.
He was replaced by Marcell Coetzee in the starting team with Oupa Mohoje coming onto the bench.
Alberts has also been ruled out of the trip to Argentina, with Whiteley taking his place in the squad.
The Boks won Saturday's Test 13-6. They tackle Argentina again next Saturday, in Malta (kick-off 21:40 SA time).
Whiteley, 26, captained the Lions in their 60-19 Currie Cup mauling against the EP Kings in Johannesburg on Saturday.
