Poite to ref Boks v Pumas

Cape Town - Frenchman Romain Poite will referee South Africa's Rugby Championship Test against Argentina in Durban on Saturday.

Poite will be assisted by JP Doyle and Marius Mitrea, with Ben Skeen the Television Match Official (TMO).

Poite is well remembered among Springbok fans for sending off Bismarck du Plessis in a Test against the All Blacks two years ago.

Poite’s harshly yellow-carded Du Plessis for a tackle on All Black flyhalf Dan Carter before later dishing out another yellow - and subsequent red - to the hooker as the Boks went on to lose 29-15 at Eden Park.

Meanwhile, the championship-deciding game between Australia and New Zealand in Sydney will be refereed by England's Wayne Barnes.

Barnes will be assisted by Nigel Owens and Federico Anselmi, with South Africa's Shaun Veldsman on TMO duty.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
