14:12 - This must rate as one of the best ever Springbok performances, especially given the fact that we had never beaten Australia at Suncorp Stadium. This must be used as a stepping stone for the future. It will be much tougher against the All Blacks in Auckland next week, but with this performance we are in with a real shot at Eden Park!

13:27 - TRY! Jean de Villiers goes over after a brilliant backline move from the Boks. Habana chip-kicked on the wing and then Kruger handled brilliantly to set it up his skipper who ran a brilliant line! Steyn misses a tough conversion but after 60 minutes the Boks lead 24-12!

12:57 - It's clear the Springboks are playing the right game, utilising the correct kicking tactics and playing the game in the right side of the field. Our scrums are also looking good which bodes well for the second half. I do feel we need to lower our penalty count though, as the talented Australian backs will create some scoring opportunities if given enough ball to work with. But I see us sneaking a first win over the Wallabies at this ground...

The Wallabies run it out from their own line but concede a penalty. Steyn can stretch SA's lead on the stroke of half-time... 12:15 - Oosthuizen's try was a perfect example of great refereeing. The fact that he asked "can you give me a reason not to award the try" the TMO had to agree. Had he just asked "try or no try" then it may not have been awarded...

12:11 - Coenie Oosthuizen is over the line after a great driving maul! It looks like a try but ref Clancy wants to check upstairs. He asked the TMO "can you give me a reason not to award the try" so the TRY stands!

11:57 - It's perfect conditions at Suncorp Stadium. Players call it the "fastest pitch" in Australia which is not ideal for the Springboks one feels. The wet conditions in the All Blacks' earlier Test would have suited us more - therefore a big defensive effort is required from the Boks today, especially in the backline...
11:49 - REFS TO MAKE OWN TMO CALLS
Referees in the Rugby Championship are now able to make their own ‘TMO calls’ from big screens in stadiums. Up until now, referees were permitted to make only foul play decisions based on their viewing of the big screen.
But from today they will be permitted to make all decisions relating to the current TMO protocol from the big screen. This recommendation was made by a meeting of the IRB's Law Review Group in Dublin earlier this week.
A good call! The TMOs in recent weeks proved that they can get things wrong time and time again. Lets hope Ireland's George Clancy gets things right in this game!

11:42 - CAMPO BOOTED FROM SUPERSPORT STUDIO
Good old David Campese is in the news fro the wrong reasons again. He has been removed as a rugby commentator by SuperSport after making derogatory comments about a Pakistan-born Australian cricketer.
Campese lashed out at spin bowler Fawad Ahmed after he received permission from Cricket Australia to not wear a beer company logo on his uniform due to his Muslim faith.
I think it's a good move by SuperSport as Campese has previously upset me with comments he made in favour of Australasian teams against South African Super Rugby teams - and that while he was employed by SuperSport! Campo has never been the same since Pieter Hendriks's hand-off saw him flying to the Newlands turf in the 1995 Rugby World Cup opening match...

Meyer has made three changes and a couple of positional switches from the side that won 22-17 in Mendoza in their last Test. Bismarck du Plessis takes over at hooker and vice-captain from Adriaan Strauss, while Flip van der Merwe will pack down at lock in place of Juandré Kruger. Strauss and Kruger move to the substitutes bench.
In the backline, Willie le Roux shifts from fullback to right wing in the place of Bjorn Basson, with Bryan Habana
moving over to the left wing position. Zane Kirchner, who is back to full fitness
following a hand injury earlier in the season, will start his first Test
of the year at fullback.
