Habana eyes overseas success

Cape Town - Springbok wing Bryan Habana says they are out to improve their dismal recent away record in the Rugby Championship.

The Boks haven't won a match away from home in the competition since 2009 and are eager to break their duck when they tackle Argentina in Mendoza on Saturday.

They drew 16-all there last year and Habana said and his team-mates are eager to make amends.

"To be honest I don't think we really stood up to the way we let ourselves down last year," he told the Cape Times.

"After Argentina we went off to Australia and New Zealand and we let that game slip in Perth and in Dunedin as well.

"We took a lot out of the Rugby Championship last year but the last time we won away in the southern hemisphere against opposition in this competition was back in 2009. There is a lot of emphasis around getting to get those demons off our back and really start learning from our experiences.

"If we want to stand a chance of winning this competition we have to realise that we need to start winning away from home. We need to learn a lot quicker than last year if we are to stand any chance of going all the way in this competition," continued Habana.

Saturday's Test in Mendoza kicks off at 21:10 (SA time).
