Cape Town - Former Springbok coach Peter de Villiers has his own theory on why the Boks lost their last two games in the Rugby Championship.
The Springboks conceded late tries in Brisbane and Johannesburg to fail against the Wallabies and All Blacks in their first two Tests of the competition.
De Villiers, who coached the Boks between 2008 and 2011, was quoted as saying by AFP: "We need to address the fighting-fit weight of the players so that they can last for 80 minutes," said De Villiers.
"The players are carrying excess unnatural weight which is why we cannot maintain intensity for full matches.
"I believe we bulk up our Springboks instead of making them match-fit."
The Boks tackle Argentina in their final Rugby Championship campaign in Durban on Saturday.
Kick off is at 17:05.
