Dunedin - Springbok prop Dean Greyling has been cited for alleged foul play during Saturday’s match against New Zealand in the Rugby Championship at the Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin.
Greyling is alleged to have contravened Law 10.4 (a) punching or striking, when he made contact with New Zealand player Richie McCaw with his arm in the 64th minute of the match.
The referee for the match, George Clancy, penalised Greyling and issued a yellow card for the incident.
Upon further review of the match footage the citing commissioner deemed in his opinion the incident had met the red card threshold for foul play.
The citing is to be considered by SANZAR Duty Judicial Officer Paul Tully by teleconference.
