Cape Town - All Blacks assistant coach Ian Foster has issued a warning to his side that they will need to remain disciplined throughout their Rugby Championship clash against the Springboks in Johannesburg on Saturday.
Foster says that the All Blacks were tested by the Pumas last week and that they should have learnt from their mistakes in that match.
"We know when we look at our discipline last week against Argentina, for that middle part of the second half, we gave them soft penalties," Foster told www.allblacks.com.
"We got a bit frustrated, we allowed them to get field territory and they got two tries. So we experienced ourselves what poor discipline does. Poor discipline is not just about acting in a foul sort of way, it is about not nailing your role in every particular minute and we paid the price last week for that."
The last time the sides met was in October last year when a Pat Lambie penalty from his own half in the final seconds won the game for the Boks.
"What we learn about that (last minute calls) is more about not putting ourselves in a position where we are vulnerable to a last-minute refereeing decision,” said Foster.
"Ultimately we would want to take control of the performance."
