Poms set for Kimberley clash

Cape Town - The Griqualand-West Rugby Union will this year host an international rugby team for the first time in 12 years.

The Volksblad newspaper was reliably informed that Kimberley will host one of the midweek matches when England tour South Africa in June for three Test matches.

A Barbarians team will play against England at GWK-Park. The Barbarians will apparently consist of players from South Africa's so-called eight smaller unions.

The South African Rugby Union (SARU) will decide at its general meeting in Cape Town on Friday which union will host the other midweek game for the England tour.

England last visited Kimberley in 2000 when they played a midweek game against Griquas. England comfortably won that encounter 55-16.
