Auckland - All Blacks scrumhalf Piri Weepu is officially an Aucklander.
According to the Stuff.co.nz website, the No 9, who inked a deal with the Blues in July of last year, debuted his new colours on social networking website Twitter, pulling on the team's training strip.
"How do I look in blue?" he tweeted to his 38 259 followers, along with a photo.
Fellow All Black and former Hurricanes team-mate Cory Jane posted a tongue-in-cheek reply, saying: "Doesn't match your eyes..u [sic] looked better in Black & Yellow."
Weepu reportedly decided to join the Blues after tension between his former team members, the Hurricanes, and management saw fellow All Black Ma'a Nonu shut out for the 2012 season.
Nonu also announced he was switching to the Blues last year.
The Blues kick off their 2012 Super Rugby tournament against the Crusaders next month.
