Bloemfontein - Highly-rated centre Clinton Swart has joined the Cheetahs for the remainder of their PRO14 campaign and could make his debut against Treviso next weekend.
The 25-year-old did feature for the Cheetahs in Super Rugby this year, but he turned out for Griquas in the Currie Cup as the Cheetahs began their PRO14 venture.
Now, the hard-running No 12 is back in Bloemfontein and ready to get stuck into European competition.
According to Netwerk24, Swart was set to meet up with the Cheetahs for training on Friday morning and he was expected to be part of the squad that travels to Italy on Wednesday.
The Cheetahs are also boosted by the return of Springboks Oupa Mohoje, Francois Venter and Uzair Cassiem to their ranks.
Having won six of their 10 matches so far, the Cheetahs are still very much in the competition and they currently occupy 3rd place in Conference A, meaning that they would progress to the tournament playoffs as things stand.
Kick-off on January 6 is at 15:15 (SA time).
