Bloemfontein - The Cheetahs have suffered a massive blow with the news that their captain Oupa Mohoje will be sidelined for an extended period due to a knee injury.

The Springbok loose forward suffered an ACL tear in his right knee in last week’s PRO14 match against Munster in Ireland.

The Cheetahs announced via a press statement on Wednesday that Mohoje would be "out of action for 9 months”.

The PRO14 final is scheduled for next May which means Mohojo is likely to miss the entire season.

Gerhard Olivier has joined the team in Swansea, Wales ahead of their second PRO14 match against Ospreys on Saturday (kick-off 18:30 SA time).
