Cape Town - The Cheetahs look set to lose scrumhalf Shaun Venter to Welsh club Ospreys.

According to the Wales Online website, Venter will sign a two-year deal Ospreys after an impressive 2018/19 PRO14 season.

The news will come as a blow to the Cheetahs, who are rebuilding after suffering a mass exodus of players following their first season in the 2017/18 PRO14 season.

Venter, 32, captained the Cheetahs in several of their 2018/19 PRO14 games.

He joined the Cheetahs from the Kings in 2014, having previously played for the Pumas.
