The 28-year-old, who played in eight Test matches under Allister Coetzee over 2016 and 2017, picked up the injury this past Friday.

The former Cheetah underwent a scan on Tuesday, which revealed a calf injury.

He is expected to make a full recovery and return to action within four weeks.

Scarlets are away at Ulster on Saturday in their first match of the new season.
