Bloemfontein - Eight players have signed contract extensions with the Cheetahs, Free State Rugby announced on Tuesday.

The eight players have all signed to stay with the Cheetahs until 2019.

They are centres William Small-Smith, Nico Lee and Lloyd Greeff, flyhalf Ernst Stapelberg, hooker Elandre Huggett, locks JP du Preez and Dennis Visser and utility forward Sibabalo Qoma.

The Cheetahs hinted that further signings could be made in due course.

“Indications are that announcements on a number of other top players can be expected soon due to the fact that the contracting process only just started,” read a press statement released by the union.
