Naka challenges locks

2012-02-03 08:07

Cape Town - Cheetahs coach Naka Drotské has challenged three of his locks to make every second count in their pre-season clash against the Stormers in order to make the No 4 jersey their own.

Drotské was referring to Andries Ferreira, Francois Uys en George Earl as they prepare for the clash at Newlands.

Ferreira has been included in the central franchise's run-on XV to face the Stormers, but Drotské told Volksblad any one of the three mentioned could still make the position their own.

Philip van der Walt also gets a chance as flank, with Springbok Ashley Johnson a substitute.

Another Springbok, Davon Raubenheimer will wear the No 8 jersey.

Tighthead prop WP Nel is back after a shoulder operation. He couldn't play in last week's match against the Southern Kings.

    Go Cheetahs!!!

      Anton - 2012-02-03 09:31

      Go Cheetahs go!!

      Bulldozer - 2012-02-03 09:51

Balsak, unlike julle Stormer manne sit die res van ons nie so n hoë premie op warm up games nie. Ons worry net oor die games wat saak maak.

      Pierre - 2012-02-03 11:10

One good thing for most teams in the SA conference is that they have locks that can challenge; for the Bulls though I think avoiding lineouts for a while will be a good strategy.

  • Wimpie.Haefele - 2012-02-03 08:24

    The year of the Cheetah!

      Bulldozer - 2012-02-03 09:41

Ek sal nou nie so ver gaan nie.

      Eduard - 2012-02-03 11:56

Ja Wimpie, moet niks se wat die arme bulle van ou dozer in 'n slegte lig stel nie...

  • Saffa - 2012-02-03 09:20

This is one team I reckon will be A-OK in the S15....(if injuries don't hamper them terribly of course) The Cheetahs run on team IMHO is one of the most balanced in SA - great loosies, great backs, a GIFTED pivot and a good front row - no real weaknesses IMHO. There are 2 teams I don't mind the Stormers losing to....the Cheetahs being one, and the Blues being the other. I hope the Cheetahs kick all comers in the S15.....and cement their place in the competition.

      Brannas - 2012-02-03 10:15

Ah Saffa well done, Eventually you see the light and realize that it’s a waste of time to support the stormers. I see you changing to the Cheetahs now. Well done, You’ve got a better chance to feel what’s it like to win something with the Cheetahs and people might even start to like you. I’m impressed. You and I might even become mates, who knows. Keep going, GO CHEETAHS

      Bulldozer - 2012-02-03 10:29

Well said Brannas. Respect Saffa. 112 skapies, 113 skapies, 114 skapies....................

      Brannas - 2012-02-03 10:32

Bulldozer LOL. 115 skapies. 116 skapies. Hahahaha.

      Brannas - 2012-02-03 11:43

Nattes ,And I'm doing the same you thick plank

      Saffa - 2012-02-03 12:22

No @Brannas - I will remain a Stormer and WP til the day I peg. I do admire, respect and appreciate the Cheetahs and the region as a whole for their massive contribution to SA rugby in general. This of course in total contrast to what I feel for certain other regions which happen to be stains on decent society.

      Saffa - 2012-02-03 12:23

@Lionel - those okes LIVE in their own time zone...ABBA, jean pants, combs and tight perms.

      Bulldozer - 2012-02-03 12:44

Saffa, nothing wrong with ABBA. I enjoy a lot of 80's music. Erasure, OMD, Pet Shop Boys, Rihanna etc.

      Saffa - 2012-02-03 12:48

Dozeyyyyyyyyyyyyy.........Eurasure, Pet Shop Boys? Hehehehehe, and thou hast the cheek to call CT pink?

      Bulldozer - 2012-02-03 13:08

I don't care where they putt from, as long as the music is good.

      Danie - 2012-02-03 13:56

      Saffa!!!! Jou yster!!!!!!!!!!

  • Bootman - 2012-02-03 09:43

I really dont see the Stormers winning this one. The cheetahs team is about 90% what their team will be for the S15, whereas the Stormers are only about 40%. Allister will use this game solely to look at a few new youngsters and to check the progress of players coming back from injury.

      Bulldozer - 2012-02-03 10:10

I don't really see the Stormers win anything.

      Brannas - 2012-02-03 10:19

Of all 5 SA teams, it is only the stormers that won nothing for the past 11 years, NO Vodacom cup, NO Currie Cup and NO S15. Lions, Cheetahs, Sharks and Bulls all had the Currie Cup and the Bulls the S15 cup 3 years. It does tell you something hey.

      Bulldozer - 2012-02-03 10:28

      Saffa - 2012-02-03 12:26

Dozey and Brannas - Delighted you chaps have spent your morning (evening) discussing me.... At least haven't been wasting your time discussing the Bulls.

      Saffa - 2012-02-03 13:12

@Dozey - ROTFLMAO - yup, it will take you at least 14 days to adjust after your trip.

      ckrohne1 - 2012-02-03 20:12

@Bootman; Are you a Stomer fan but an All Black supporter? As for the tonight's game, I agree, I dont see the Stomers winning this one. I believe it is a game the WPeeeeee coaching staff wants to use to experiment.

      Hoo - 2012-02-04 10:43

@dozer my maat as jy nou vinnig aan di slaap wil raak, kyk net 'n stormers re-run game en siedaar aan di slaap! kan net ni belowe, dat jy ni pink nagmerries gan kry ni....

  • Danie - 2012-02-03 13:54
