Dublin - Mike Miller is to step down as International Rugby Board chief executive at the end of January after 10 years in the role.
Miller will also leave his post as managing director Rugby World Cup Limited in the wake of Bernard Lapasset being re-elected for a second term as IRB president.
Miller has overseen three World Cups and was instrumental in returning rugby to the Olympic program for the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro.
In an IRB statement released on Friday, Lapasset says "Mike has achieved much during his 10 years at the IRB, which is a much stronger organization than when he joined in 2002."
Miller says "the platform has been established for rugby to become a truly global sport."
