Paris - The playing future of former All Black and Chiefs loose forward Sione Lauaki is up in the air because of kidney and heart problems.
According to the Stuff.co.nz website, Craig Innes, a former All Black and league player who is now a director at the Esportif agency that represents Lauaki, told LiveSport that Lauaki's prognosis was not good.
"It wasn't the best report he could have got and he's got some thinking to do over the next little while.
"At the end of the day it's sport and playing footy is great but if it means putting yourself in a spot of danger then you've really got to consider that and that's the point he's at right now."
Lauaki had a routine medical assessment for his French club Bayonne at the end of January where problems with both his kidneys and his heart were detected.
After consulting several specialists, the 30-year-old ended his season at Bayonne to start treatment.
Lauaki played 17 Tests for the All Blacks making his debut against Fiji in 2005.
