Henson in flight bust-up

Cardiff - Controversial Welsh centre Gavin Henson was suspended by the Cardiff Blues on Saturday following an incident on a team flight, the club announced.

Cardiff officials will meet on Monday to discuss the incident, which happened as the team flew back from Scotland on Friday following the 31-3 Celtic League defeat by Glasgow.

Henson will now be doubtful for Saturday's European Cup quarter-final against Leinster in Dublin.

"Cardiff Blues can confirm that Gavin Henson has been suspended with immediate effect following an incident on the flight back from Scotland after their match against Glasgow Warriors last night," a spokesperson told the club website.

"The Cardiff Blues management team will meet first thing Monday morning to discuss the matter further."

Henson, capped 33 times by Wales, signed for Cardiff in October on a short-term contract, after brief spells with Saracens and Toulon in the wake of his 2010 departure from the Ospreys.

He was named in Wales' provisional 45-man squad for the World Cup but a wrist injury ended his hopes of going to New Zealand.
