Cape Town - The Springboks and England are all-square at 6-all at half-time in their Test match at Kings Park in Durban.
England flyhalf Owen Farell kicked two penalties for the visitors, while Morné Steyn replied with two of his own for the hosts.
South Africa could have taken the lead for the first time in the match when they were rewarded a penalty after a scrum right at the end of the first period.
But Steyn missed the tricky penalty from the touchline in trying conditions to keep the scores level.
