Eng discuss Johnson's future

London - England's Rugby Football Union has appointed two new directors as part of a structural review including a dissection of the team's dismal World Cup performances and manager Martin Johnson's future.

The RFU says it approved a recommendation from its board of directors to appoint Miles Templeman and Andrew Higginson as independent non executive directors.

But the futures of Johnson and acting chief executive Martyn Thomas are of more interest to fans disappointed by England's dour on-field performances and quarter-final exit top France in New Zealand.

British newspapers widely report that the RFU expects Johnson to overhaul his support staff if he wants to keep the job he took in 2008. Thomas is also under pressure.
