WP suffer injury blow in Sharks triumph

Cape Town - Western Province will continue their Currie Cup campaign without the services of experienced hooker Scarra Ntubeni, who has been ruled out through injury.

Ntubeni's suffered an Achilles tendon injury in his side's impressive 34-27 victory over the Sharks at Newlands on Saturday.

"Scarra's Achilles injury is serious. We won't be seeing him on a rugby field any time soon," Province coach John Dobson said.

Ntubeni left the field in the 12th minute and the home side struggled in the lineouts after he went off. Neil Rautenbach and Martin Ferreira, two loan players from the Cheetahs and EP Kings respectively, will compete for the number two jersey going forward
