Willem Strauss retains Blue Bulls presidency

Cape Town - Blue Bulls Rugby Union (BBRU) interim President and Chairperson of the Board, Willem Strauss, was on Friday re-elected unopposed into his post and will serve a four-year term.

Strauss was appointed into the role on an interim basis earlier this year in March after the resignation of former president Gert Wessels.

Strauss was responsible for spearheading some great initiatives on both professional and amateur levels.

"It's no secret that I have dedicated my life to the beautiful game of rugby. I am honored and privileged to be granted to opportunity to lead the #BullsFamily once again. We have been blessed with some of the most amazing people that have supported our efforts on both the professional and amateur sides," commented Strauss.

He further elaborated on the road ahead: "We are on the doorstep of an exciting new era for both the Bulls and the Blue Bulls Rugby Union, with some big appointments to be announced soon. Stability and consistency is of the utmost importance at this stage, and fans can be assured that I will do my best to ensure this."

Strauss gave full credit to a strong support structure around him, including the management team and personnel.

He fully believes that with his team, he will make rugby in Pretoria a force to reckon with.
