Pumas too strong for Golden Lions

Nelspruit - The Pumas beat the Golden Lions 35-24 in a most entertaining Currie Cup qualification match at the Kanyamazane Stadium outside Nelspruit Saturday.

Both teams were prepared to throw the ball out wide and although the Lions had more possession than the Pumas, the home team took advantage of all their chances on offer and thoroughly deserved their win.

Each side scored four tries, enabling the losers as well as the victors, to gain valuable bonus points.

The halftime score was 23-12 In favour of the Pumas.

Lions 24: Tries: Anthony Volmink, Ruaan Lerm, Fabian Booysen, Shaun Reynolds, Conversions: Ashlon Davids (2).
