Cape Town - Hugo Kloppers will captain the Pumas when they take on the Blue Bulls in Friday night's Currie Cup clash at Loftus.
The towering lock replaces regular skipper Hennie Skorboiinski, who picked up an injury in last week's fixture against the Sharks in Durban.
It is a crucial match for both sides as the race for a place in the semi-finals intensifies.
The Pumas are 5th on the log with one win from three, while the Blue Bulls are 3rd with two wins from four.
Kick-off is at 19:00.
