Cape Town - Blue Bulls flank Jannes Kirsten is set for an extended period on the sidelines after injuring ankle ligaments during his side’s 45-34 Currie Cup loss to Western Province at Newlands.

Blue Bulls coach Nollis Marais confirmed the injury and expects the player to miss several matches.

More clarity on the injury will however be given later on Monday.

Marais said that Tim Agaba is likely to fill Kirsten’s void on the flank.
