Pretoria - The Blue Bulls have welcomed back Springbok centre Jesse Kriel as they prepare for Saturday’s Currie Cup clash against the Sharks in Durban.
Kriel was one of the Springboks released from coach Rassie Erasmus’ squad for the trip to Argentina and will be available for the Bulls in the Currie Cup this weekend.
Blue Bulls forwards coach Gary Botha told Netwerk24 that Kriel is a special athlete.
“Jesse amazes me. He arrives here from the Boks and you immediately feel his presence. He is the type of player we want to have here at the Bulls," Botha said.
The Bulls surprised in their opening Currie Cup encounter when they thumped the Free State Cheetahs 34-12 in Bloemfontein last Friday.
They suffered one injury setback in that game with lock Ruben van Heerden concussed. He will not be available to tackle the Sharks.
The Bulls also confirmed that four players - locks Aston Fortuin and Eli Snyman, loose forward Boom Prinsloo and utility back Duncan Matthews - have all recovered from their respective injuries and will be available for selection against the Sharks.
Saturday's clash at Kings Park is scheduled for 15:00.
