Injury niggles for Blue Bulls

Pretoria - The Blue Bulls have a few injury concerns following their 41-40 Currie Cup loss to the Free State Cheetahs.

Loose forward Shaun Adendorff and lock Irne Herbst both suffered knee injuries and consulted specialists on Monday.

Herbst’s injury is a recurring one and a decision regarding the rest of his season will be made in due course.

Centre Burger Odendaal, who captained the Bulls last weekend, also injured his knee.

Both Odendaal and Adendorff will in all likelihood not be available for selection this week.

Regarding the long term injury list, Travis Ismaiel and Roelof Smit will be out for two to three more weeks, while Jaco Visagie will be available for selection in a week or two.

Players returning from injury are Ulrich Beyers, Boom Prinsloo, Warrick Gelant and Duncan Matthews.

Gelant left the field against the Cheetahs with a knee niggle and sat out training on Monday, but was join Matthews on the training field on Tuesday.

All four players should be available for selection Friday’s match against the Pumas in Nelspruit.

Kick-off is at 19:00.
