Heavy rain, strong winds delay Bulls v WP Currie Cup clash

Cape Town - Heavy rains and strong winds have delayed the Currie Cup encounter between the Blue Bulls and Western Province at Loftus Versfeld.

The Blue Bulls Rugby Union confirmed the news on social media but gave no indication of when the match was expected to go ahead.

"The match between the Vodacom Blue Bulls and DHL Western Province is delayed until further notice due to heavy rains and thunderstorms," said a tweet from the Blue Bulls with a video taken from the tunnel showing torrential rain bucketing down on the field.

Lightning around the stadium also contributed to the delay.

The latest reports indicate the match will get underway once the weather clears.
