Log-leaders Griquas continued to set the pace in the new provincial tournament when they beat Toyota Free State XV 44-31 (halftime 20-14) in their fixture at Griqua Park, Kimberley, on Saturday.


Griquas – Tries: Penalty try, Tiaan Dorfling, Ederies Arendse, Devon Martinus, AJ Koertzen; Conversions: Andre Swarts (3), Clinton Swart (2); Penalties: Andre Swarts (3)

Free State – Tries: Tertius Kruger, Carl Wegner, Reniel Hugo, Reinhardt Erwee; Conversions: Niel Marais (4); Penalties: Niel Marias
