Bloemfontein - Free State Cheetahs coach Daan Human has named his team for Saturday’s Currie Cup clash against Griquas in Kimberley.
Human made a few changes to the team that lost 47-14 to the Golden Lions in Johannesburg last weekend.
In the backline, Vuyani Maqina replaces the injured Lloyd Greeff (ankle) at left wing.
Up front, Johan Kotze starts at losehead prop, with Kevin Stevens providing cover on the bench.
In the loose trio, Daniel Maartens gets the opportunity to start in the No 6 jersey, replacing Niell Jordaan, who was called up to the Cheetahs’ PRO14 side. Abongile Nonkontwana moves to No 7 flank and Stephan Malan to No 8.
Stefan van Schalkwyk and Ryno Eksteen are new to the bench, with Van Schalkwyk to make his Currie Cup debut if he gets a chance.
Free State are bottom of the Currie Cup log having lost all four of their matches so far in 2018, while Griquas have lost three from three.
