Cape Town – The Cheetahs have secured the services of Maties flyhalf Ernst Stapelberg.

According to Netwerk24, Stapelberg joined the Cheetahs’ squad on Monday after signing a two-year deal.

Stapelberg, who starred for Maties in the Varsity Cup, will be a welcome addition to the Bloemfontein franchise’s flyhalf stocks.

Niel Marais and Fred Zeilinga are currently injured, which has seen Ryno Eksteen play in the No 10 jersey.

Ernst Stapelberg, 22, was contracted to Western Province and previously represented their Under-21 side.
