Cape Town - Fullback Clayton Blommetjies is back in Bloemfontein and will feature for the Free state Cheetahs in this year's Currie Cup.
According to Netwerk24, the Cheetahs have roped in Blommetjies' services after Malcolm Jaer was ruled out for the entire Currie Cup with a groin injury.
The 28-year-old left the Cheetahs for Welsh club Scarlets in 2018, but his two-year contract was ended after only a year by the PRO14 outfit.
In September last year, Scarlets coach Wayne Pivac was not impressed with Blommetjies' fitness and said he would be put on a conditioning programme.
He was earlier this year loaned to English club Leicester Tigers before the Scarlets opted to end his contract.
Blommetjies played for the Cheetahs between 2014 and 2018. Before that, he was on the Bulls' books between 2010 and 2014, having played his junior rugby in the Boland.
