Another Bulls star out of final

Cape Town - The Blue Bulls have suffered another significant injury blow ahead of Saturday’s Currie Cup final against the Free State Cheetahs in Bloemfontein.

Blue Bulls team doctor Herman Rossouw on Monday revealed that fullback Ulrich Beyers dislocated his shoulder in the 36-30 semi-final win over Western Province and will miss the trip to Bloemfontein.

This comes after it was revealed that lock RG Snyman will miss the final after suffering concussion and a fracture to the facial bone.

Snyman’s injury is not as bad as initially feared though.

“He was consulted by a specialist and will have a minor procedure. His recovery will be much sooner than initially expected,” said Rossouw.

Rossouw also confirmed that scrumhalf Piet van Zyl will be available for selection after recovering from concussion.

Saturday’s Currie Cup final is scheduled for 16:00.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
