"There is no doubt in my mind that Lizo is a future Springbok and it means a great deal to us that he has chosen to extend his stay with the Kings, " EP Rugby president Cheeky Watson commented.
Gqoboka only started playing the sport aged 19 when he moved to Durban to study human resource management and there joined Durban Collegians Sports Club.
He has played for the Kings since 2011, when he represented them in the Absa Under-21 Premier Division competition.
His performances on the field were noticed and in September last year he earned an invitation to train with the Springboks.
He also got called up to a Springbok training camp in October 2014.
Meanwhile, Watson also confirmed that flyhalf Elgar Watts, who joined the team in June for trials, has signed a multi-year deal with the Kings.
"We can also confirm that Elgar has signed with the Kings until October 2017," said Watson.
