WP sweat over Coleman

Cape Town - Western Province are sweating over the availability of flyhalf Kurt Coleman ahead of Friday night's Currie Cup opener against Eastern Province in Port Elizabeth.

According to Die Burger, Coleman is struggling with a knee injury and his participation for the match at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium is in doubt.

Fullback Jaco Taute will also miss the trip to the Friendly City after receiving compassionate leave following the passing of his mother.

Coach Allister Coetzee confirmed that a few other players returning from injury would also only be available for the following week's clash against the Blue Bulls at Newlands. They include Scarra Ntubeni (hooker), Rynhardt Elstadt (lock/flank) and Ruan Botha (lock).

Coetzee said he was happy to have Blitzbokke speedster Seabelo Senatla to call on and also fit-again wingers Cheslin Kolbe and Kobus van Wyk.

Friday's game in PE kicks off at 19:10.
