Cape Town - 48 hours after losing the Currie Cup final, surely the most embarrassing award to receive would be Coach and Player of the Month?

WP coach Allister Coetzee and centre Damian de Allende on Monday completed a WP double for the month of October: Currie Cup Coach of the Month and Currie Cup Player of the Month, respectively.

Although it's always nice to get recognition for a job well done, it must be a pretty hollow feeling for the pair to receive their awards so soon after missing out on the 2013 Currie Cup title after the team lost 33-19 to the Sharks at Newlands in the final.

WP may have enjoyed some brilliant rugby in the past month and they finished the end of the Currie Cup regular season unbeaten, but they lost the match that really counted ... the final.
