Scrumhalf headache for Sharks

Cape Town - The Sharks' depth at scrumhalf will be put to the test in this year's Currie Cup competition.

The defending champions start their campaign against Griquas in Kimberley on Saturday and will be forced to pick between two inexperienced players.

With Charl McLeod off to France, and Cobus Reinach at the Springboks, the Durbanites acquired the services of Conrad Hoffmann from the Brumbies.

The only other remaining options left for coach Brad MacLeod-Henderson are Under-21 players, Hanco Venter and Cameron Wright.

Venter, who was schooled at Monument High School in Krugersdorp, is a former Baby Bok, while Wright matriculated at Hilton College.

Kimberley could be a tough place to debut for either player...
